Welcome to The Garden Project

A glimpse into the past less we forget, before a time to dine and then recline, a reminder of the task we met to turn this piece of England into a peaceful haven in which to sit.

I hope its all been worth it and you like what we have done as much as we do.

LOW MAINTENANCE was the order of the day so, just like Snow White’s little helpers; off to work we went...

Clearing the ground took some time before we were able to start creating our little piece of paradise.

Once under way our enthusiasm grew as walls were built, paths were laid and planting areas developed.

Little Piece of Paradise

Planting and lighting our Little Piece of Paradise was a pleasure, the heady scent of flowers are now in the air, mingling with the soothing sound of water cascading over mossy rock behind a mushroom fountain flowing in its endless pursuit of a quiet eddy.

The sun caressing the soft yellow stone work warms the piazza and patio for lazy summer contemplation; The conservatory nestled in the corner creates a welcoming garden room complimented with the white glow of canvas as its portal offering a shady retreat (to sip that long cool drink) that is The Farr Pavilion... all in all completing this sanctuary of peace, where time seems to slow to a pace almost forgotten but altogether good for the soul

Our winter of content
S
nug we are in this our winter of content, sheltered from the storms the cutting knives of winter sleet and snow, driving on the drifts of Jack Frost’s coat to turn from green this land to Santa’s whitened wonderland.
All is still upon the ground the storm has passed, the bough is glistening with its new white shroud.
The web that once we did not see, takes centre place twinkling like lametta on the tree; restored once more a level of tranquillity

A single rose all draped with icy garlands stands alone, a pansy standing blue a proud its petals edged with winters shroud, the last to share its colour on this morn.
As the season takes it’s grip the last of summer life is put to rest replacing buds with baubles beads and lights, bringing back a winter kind of life....
